Mt. Pleasant Winery

I had the pleasure of working this event with some of my friends and former chef, Chris Desens, in the past. Formerly the (James) Beard Barbecue, they changed it to the St. Louis Chef de Cuisine after the whole Beard Foundation debacle a few years back. It’s always been a great event, and Mount Pleasant is especially beautiful this time of year.

Event Details:
Mount Pleasant Winery will host the 2007 Chefs Wine Country BBQ, a fundraiser presented by the American Culinary Federation (ACF) Chefs de Cuisine Association of St. Louis. Proceeds will benefit the Chefs de Cuisine Education Foundation and ACF Chef and Child Foundation.More than 30 top chefs from St. Louis private clubs and restaurants will prepare hors d’œuvres, vegetables, fish, meats and desserts for guests to sample in a tapas-style setting at Mount Pleasant Winery. Wine selections to complement each meal will be available for purchase. A silent auction will be held as well.Tickets are $45 per person and include admission, food tasting and a commemorative wine glass. Children under 10 are free. Wine and beverages are not included. For each ticket purchased before August 30, receive a coupon for free admission during the Mount Pleasant Winery 2007 band season. Reserved tables of ten or more are available for an additional $5 per person.Call 800-467-WINE for more information or to order tickets. Don’t delay! Only 500 tickets will be sold.The Chefs Wine Country BBQ is sponsored by the ACF Chefs de Cuisine Association of St. Louis, Mount Pleasant Winery and PFG/Middendorf.The Chefs de Cuisine Education Foundation awards culinary scholarships, continuing education grants and funds to culinary students. The ACF Chef & Child Foundation educates children and families about proper nutrition and eating habits through community-based initiatives.
