As an aside, what kind of kicked up things do you do with your Thanksgivings, or do you just kick it old school traditional?
A few years ago I suggested that we go over to Ellie’s Dad’s house as we’d never spent Thanksgiving with him. My assumption was, as he’s an awesome guy and a good cook, and other holiday’s had always been a combination of good food and entertaining intoxication, that Thanksgiving would be the ultimate experience at his home.
He fried one turkey, and smoked another, and while they were both fantastic, we realized then, that a large part of Thanksgiving joy is comfort; any major attempts to kick it up leave us kind of craving for a boring old roasted bird.
