I just got back from the farmer's market in Phx. I was amazed at all the produce! It's FEBRUARY for pete's sake...then I remembered that this is their prime growing season. Lot of great tender greens and herbs.

I stole a lemon off a tree. And an orange. The orange tasted like the lemon. Maybe Jesus punished me for stealing during lent by giving me a sour orange. or it just wasn't ripe...or maybe it was the hamburger I ate today. it is Friday. anyway...i plan on eating my way through Phx this week. i'll post if i come across anything amazing.

Ellie and I don't have any plants, and I was thinking of growing a coffee plant for grins.

I'm sure I'd kill it like all our other plants though...which is why we have no plants.

As someone who edits for a living, that quote made me cringe ... but not as much as the thought that someone may think grapefruits are local! Ack! And I know there will someday be local bananas ... because I know Stef's husband, and he will make it happen!

OK.. that's hilarious! Re the banana comment: My husband is convinced he can grow bananas. He has also talked to Local Harvest about selling them there if he ever gets any. So.. someday, there could be some local bananas to be bought. However, I wouldn't count on it.
