Bee Article in Post Dispatch

Today’s Post Dispatch had a brief article about the Eastern Missouri Beekeepers Association holding a workshop in Clayton for people interested in backyard beekeeping. It briefly touched on Colony Collapse Disorder and the belief of some scientists that “the reservoir of bees in the backyard may prove to be where the better bees are, and the solution to this [CCD].” |

Hi Bill/Ellie~ Just stumble across this site, pretty cool:)
I actually attended the MO Beekeepers meeting and am somewhat frightened to announce that we’ll be adding 2 hives to our Hermann area property. They’ll be adjacent to our Norton vineyard. If all goes well, we should be looking at 100lbs of fresh, pure honey per hive (I’ll let you know as that is TOO damn much honey for one family to consume). Should be an interesting undertaking. Ironically enough I ran into former Soulardian MOHead Judy there as well who is also considering a hive. Small world:)
