KoKo NoMo?

I was just told KoKo Restaurant has closed by way of someone from the kitchen staff. Currently the answering machine is simply the standard no one available style message. More tomorrow as I (or someone with more time than I) find out more.

I live right by there, and I wondered if they had closed because I hadn’t seen crowds during dinner. I’m out of town, otherwise I’d go check for you.

Never had their dinner food–wasn’t really up my alley–but I liked their brunch.

You can’t get a reservation there currently through OpenTable.com either. I had a pretty good dinner there once, but it was never the kind of place that I really wanted to visit again. I think their silliness on their website about being at the corners of something or other was a bit of a turnoff. I feel a little guilty, as I really liked how they tried to get a nice place started in that neighborhood.

That’s weird. My Dad was just telling me he ate there last week I think, and it was loud and packed.

  4. Wineguy Says:

I ate there once. It was a good meal, but for the $$ we dropped (a couple of hundred, including wine and tip) it wasn’t a place we ever returned to.

  5. Orrin Says:

Wineguy, how many people were in your party and what sort of wine/how much were you drinking? I thought Koko was a good value.

I love(d?) KoKo’s and will be very sad to hear if it has closed. We love their food, both in the restaurant and meals we took home, and still hope to go again. No news yet on the restaurant’s status?

  7. Jennifer Says:

We also loved Koko’s and live right around the corner from there. They have (had) the best fried chicken I’d ever tasted, and the owner and wife are so nice. I hope they didn’t really close.
