What store did you visit when you went to Kentucky. I am visiting Kentucky the first week in August and would love to check out some beers.

I went to Party Mart and Liquor Barn. Party Mart was in St. Mathews I guess. There are three Liquor Barns and I don't recall which one I went to other than it was off 65 I believe.

One thing I noticed was that everyone was clamoring for Fat Tire and it seemed like I could have bartered in stores with it.b

Hey Bill,

I was thinking about picking up some stuff in Kentucky on an upcoming roadtrip. What area (and what store in particular) did you mind such bounty?

Thanks!

That's true Jimmy.

I had some Bluegrass brewing while I was there and it was just okay. We also went to the smallest micro/craft brewery I've ever been in: Cumberland Brews. That was actually pretty good, but the only option for getting it home was in a Growlers.

While I agree with your comments, I need to take serious exception with your headline - this isn't a post about Kentucky beers (like the excellent ones from Bluegrass Brewing), it's about New York, Calfornia, etc. beers that are available there, but not here . . .

It was like Christmas in June for you! Simon and I are free tonight...we'll be over, say around 7ish?

All kidding aside, I am a BIG Brooklyn fan. Had the opportunity to have some really good beers from then when I visited Philly in April. They were on tap at James. Just recently got to try Brooklyn's Local 1 big boy. Very good. Nice golden color, clean pour with velvety head. Fruity...but good malt flavor. The Brooklyn pale is another one of my favs. Don't like it as much at the Rouge Pale but it's up there.

I just learned that the Jolly Pumpkin would be a good bottle to age...so, I won't make you crack it open tonight when we come over and you cook us dinner and we drink you beer. ;-)
