I bought some apples called "Enterprise" yesterday from a grower at the Kirkwood Farmers' Market. Wow!!!! Verrrry flavorful: reminiscent of the tartness of Jonathan but with a density that I have never experienced - bit still juicy. Yum!

First the good news... the word has spread and people are flocking to the farm to pick apples. That's also the bad news. Almost 1,000 people cleaned out the entire orchard yesterday.

I love this time of year for apples. My favorites are Empire and Honeycrip, which ironically are on opposite ends of the sweetness spectrum. Don't forget the apple cider that's now available too.
