Does the announcement of this combined with the possible closing of Fu Manchu mean that there is some kind of pan-Asian equilibrium?

The original Erato was a plus for the neighborhood: nonsmoking, very good and value-heavy wine list and excellent beer selection (both tap and bottle). Not at all pretentious. Just a good place for locals who wanted a drink but weren’t in the mood for the scene at Mangia, Absolutli Goosed, etc.
New owners took over in late summer of 2007 and just decimated the place, from beer/wine selection to service to ambience. Whatever this Parkside place turns out to be, it can’t be much worse than the latter-day Erato.
